Document Archiving Software creates and manages a computer-based repository of documents and other content. Document archiving software helps organizations like yours keep information in a centralized, digital storage device that can be protected from loss or damage.
Effective document archiving software accomplishes three main goals. First, it provides a means to capture digital content and paper documents via scanning devices, and converts the scanned images into digital files for storage. Second, it uses a number of indexing methods, such as index fields (metadata, tags) and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology, which extracts text from the images of the paper for full-text search capabilities. Finally, it offers an intuitive and responsive retrieval mechanism to bring back documents and other content when needed.
As a browser-based document management system, Content Central™ reaches all of these goals and more.
The Content Central™ document archiving system is a Microsoft® Windows® server-based application.
Each client machine that accesses Content Central™ does so with an ordinary Web browser whether in house or off site.
Content Central™ automatically organizes the information on your server as paper documents are scanned or digital documents are uploaded, and finding information is as simple as entering keywords or index fields.
DirectScan™, a Java™-based browser applet, uses TWAIN scanners to capture paper documents.

A full set of tools for page manipulation, such as rotation and ordering, exist within the DirectScan™ applet.
QCards™, another mechanism for capturing paper documents, use barcodes to separate documents during batch capture processes.
All scanned images are converted into fully-searchable PDF files for document storage and portability.
A browser-based drag-and-drop interface makes uploading digital content an easy task for everyone in the office.
Perform a search by entering one or more full-text keywords or index fields into the search frame.

Content Central™ returns matching records to your browser in a matter of seconds.
Any of these documents or content items can be downloaded, e-mailed, checked out, and more.
You can also browse directly to the content using a folder hierarchy with the Catalog Browser, which displays the content as it would appear on the file system.
A preview pane displays documents and other content below the list of matching records.
This provides a quick view of the information contained within the document(s) without having to download and save the file(s).
The application highlights all matching full-text keywords when displaying PDF files. It will also jump to the first page containing these keywords.
