Infofile systems is a well known mobile storage and records management
consultancy located in Ontario, Canada. We are currently working on a web
site to represent both our own product offering and the resources we feel
are necessary within our industry.
We have been kicking around a few different ideas for what type of
information services are in demand in our industry. So for example, we will
be offering a 'records handler' test on our web site for businesses looking
to hire individuals. The test will ensure those individuals have the
necessary filing skills for their industry. On the other hand, we have
turned down the idea of writing "Records Catalogue" software which could be
utilized over the Internet on the basis that most companies we have dealt
with in the past are looking for highly customized fields, search algorithms
and output. It's almost an entirely different business altogether getting
into customizing software of that nature.
One other idea we have been kicking around is a date-manager, personalized
that is free for our customers to use. It's not entirely related to records
management, although we could take the opportunity to put interesting news
and seminars information within the calendars.
Now we are open to all suggestions, and definately open to arguments for
providing a records cataloguing service on our web site. We would really
like your input on what type of information services, which could be
utilized through the internet or client side software would benefit the
records management industry.
I would like to thank everyone that responds, and I will be very happy to
get back to you as soon as I see your response.
Regards,
